Easy to program, works with old hardware

The remote control is very light and responsive. Programming took a few seconds. Worked with a 14 year old TV and receiver. The only thing is my receiver remote had about a million buttons and this remote doesn't cover many functions but it controls the power and volume what I need. I still use my receiver's controls for more complex things like changing HDMI inputs or surround sound settings.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • I don't dislike much, it's ok

IR remote that does NOT work with a ROKU streaming stick

IT IS NOT. Like all other universal remote controls of this type, this universal remote control RCA 6 Device (RCR6473Z) controls devices via an IR signal. ROKU Stream Sticks use a proprietary RF signal and require the remote control to be paired with the Stream Stick. This remote device cannot be paired with a streaming device.

  • Great overall performance

Top $15 spent on home entertainment devices.

There was a TV, soundbar and Roku, all with their own remote controls. Not a ridiculous amount of remotes, but enough to make me look elsewhere. That's when I found this little gem. It was easy to set up. There are 4 programming options. I went with the manual programming option, which is said to be the most difficult method (spoilers - it was very easy). There are many buttons on the unit itself, more than I really need, TV, DVR/Stream, DVD, Audio and 2 additional programmable buttons. Will…

Make sure it has the buttons you are looking for

My original RCA control stopped working so I had to order these. I've been trying to set up the controls on my TV using the quickest way recommended, which is to have it scan when turned on. After 3 attempts it still didn't work, so I looked for my model according to the instructions, it wasn't there. After 2 more attempts it finally worked. It's a good controller so far, but I'm disappointed that it doesn't have a sleep button like my original RCA controller. If you're in a dilemma then think…

Impossible Quest. for remotes and accessories

Not only did this remote not work with my Viore TV, it was a rat's nest of 800 numbers to finally get to a service technician who could at least understand why. The remote controls are obsolete, since the programs (codes) in them are intended for TVs sold TODAY. I was given a lot of wrong information and finally told to just keep trying different models until I find one that works! Yes, that's right, like there's nothing left for me to do. With all our great tech, Audiovox can't even tell me…

Why couldn't it be easier?

I'll be the first to admit that I'm far from being a computer or electrical engineer. But I thought I could handle the remote control. Obviously not. I read the instructions that came with it and was able to get the remote to find the code. The instructions said that if the device you want to program into the remote turns off, press the back button to have the remote find the correct code again and if it does, press OK. It all worked. Test. It was all the same. I programmed the remote to the TV

Bought for use with Roku, missing one key button

Good: I was able to set up the TV and audio receiver fairly easily. The Bad: I bought this primarily to control my Roku, which it mostly does. Unfortunately, the most important button on the Roku remote β€” the back button that brings up the Live Guide, Library, and Home sections, as well as search and profile options β€” is missing on this remote. I tried all the buttons there and nothing. The only way to get to this menu is to close the app and re-enter it. Plus, support for this device is a…
