Tried numerous converters to get older Hi8 video tapes into digital format. Quality and especially simplicity of use were lacking. Hooked up this RCA to HDMI converter to an HDMI to usb converter (Magewell USB capture or equivalent), used OBS Studio (free) software and, voila! best quality picture of any converters, and simple set-up that worked without glitches and failures. I did have to feed the RCA sound connections to a 3.5mm input, but that was a minor issue. Recommend this device.

Perfect exactly as expected. My N64 used to show up black and white on my newer TV, with this I get full color, with no lag and great sound.**edit: works only intermittently and is unreliable, sometimes leaving out the audio

I had an old player and several boxes of laserdiscs, and it fired up after 20 years in storage. I have boxes of discs. I needed a device like the GANA 1080P Mini RCA to convert from RCA connector's to go up to the current 1080p standard on my 50 inch TV. The device installed easily and works absolutely great! I can now watch all my old discs with better video quality other than the 480 of its original output. Shipping was fine, with Prime, and the quality of this device is very good!

Easy setup, good built quality and no input lag whatsoever. Great to play your older/retro video games on modern HDMI screens. Everything you would expect from a RCA-to-HDMI adapter.

It hard to match old tech with new tech but this product goes a long way in doing it. Saved my old VHS, DVR system and matched it with my new SONY all bells and whistles 55 inch TV.

When I received this item it was in a little bubble envelope no paper work at all item appeared to look damaged and it did not work.

Needs frequent resets whenever I change game or consoles or video will not work and just shows color bars That's my feedback.

The upscaler was able to work, but it also came with its own set of problems. For testing, I plugged in my NES to the device. Whenever I tried to switch the resolution from 720p to 1080p, the TV wouldn't be able to retrieve a signal. But when it did get a signal, there was this huge purple line that ran across the screen. So does it work? Yes, but it's not perfect. Maybe I just got a defect unit.

I've used this a few times now, works like a charm. The picture quality isn't super crisp but I think that has more to do with the VHS quality and TV size (43"), though I'm not entirely sure. The unit does get a little warm when left plugged in. I would recommend unplugging at least the power source when not in use. Overall, very satisfied with my purchase!

My MIL has an old VCR and a newer TV. She needed a way to hook up that VCR, but the only connections it has are coax and analog/composite (red, white and yellow cords). This contraption allowed her to connect the VCR to the TV through one of the HDMI connections. The picture will never be hi def due to the limitations of the VCR, but it got the job done, so now she can watch all of those old VCR tapes! I have one of thse contraptions as well, and I use it to connect my old portable DVD player…
