🔧 Red Hound Auto 10 Ton Snatch Block: Heavy-Duty Recovery Winch Pulley for Off-Roading Review

I had to stop using the noise. I can't use oil that can drip where I need the pulley so I bought 2 and they both sit in the corner.

I use this with a 3/8" OD Dyneema winch cable to pull dead trees on the farm. I just ordered a second one to double the trees .

They work great. I used it to pull out a car that had been buried in the mud for over 30 years. It only had 3 tires, all flat and clogged with mud. Pulled straight out. The only problem is that one of the two retaining rings is missing. Other than that, they work GREAT. I will buy more if needed.

Superb dash block. I've used it a few times for towing vehicles, it's a great help when it comes to towing/lifting a vehicle in a direction where you can't park your vehicle. Used with my Superwinch Tigershark 9500lb synthetic winch. Of course it also works with a steel line. Make sure to keep it in your car from bad weather. Lubricate it from time to time with WD40 or maintenance grease.

10000! KGBS! I pulled a Nissan Titan out of a ditch. After I attached a block to my truck's wheel lift to lower the traction point, it fell apart. Failure to properly attach and detach the winch to the truck can result in serious damage. The danger arose when I had to guard the truck to reset the line. Don't trust a 4000 pound hauler. I wouldn't buy it for towing and recovery. I bought two and am returning both!

The item I received was not as pictured. Also, none of the pulleys I received had a stamped grade. I bought 16K/8 Tone but have to return it due to lack of labeling. No one should lift a load with equipment of unknown power rating. The pulley seems solid and I think it can take a good load. I just can't be sure of the carrying capacity and won't risk it. These Traction Blocks are LETHAL when used near their advertised 10 ton rating! ANY AND ALL jerking blocks that rely on a dangerously small, flimsy clip ring holding a pin that holds TEN THOUSAND POUNDS is rigging madness, not to mention physics. I had to try it myself given the price and in fact the clip broke and the line exploded under 8000lbs load 3 times in 2 days of butt pulling with a lead wire puller which is a very controlled pull. Needless to say I will be going back to my yard blocks

EDIT: 4 years later; still 5 stars! I don't use them regularly but I keep them in my bag and have used them to wriggle trees, bushes and a few friends in need. They still look brand new when I keep them in my Dewalt holdall and wipe them down every time I use them. TL:DR, very strong pulley, accurately described by seller, slightly larger than expected. This article corresponds to the description. Haven't had a chance to use it with my Jeep and winch yet, but it seems to be very durable…
