MAY NOT FIT WITHOUT ADJUSTMENT

Sturdy construction which I think justifies the high price. When mounted on a Curt ball mount it will not sit flat. It interferes with the bend radius of the ball joint. I had to grind a 45 angle on the front edge of the adapter. I didn't realize it at first and my 600# hit didn't bring it any closer. It can fit Reese or other brand ball joints without modification.

Free landing? for traction devices and winches

I tried the adapter on two different poles and there was a gap between the downturned tabs on the adapter and the sides of the pole. I was concerned that this would allow the adapter to work back and forth from torque to the wobble control ball. It seemed that this could loosen the clutch and create a serious problem. I filled the gap with epoxy and hope for the best. It wasn't possible to trawl far enough to find out the results.

Works perfectly. for towing products and winches

I'm not sure what people do to bend anything other than use a jackknife to force it or install it incorrectly. I can still turn very tight with no problems. However, a friend of mine welded a strut to the hitch to prevent it from moving back and forth and possibly weakening the ball, as I've seen others say has happened. Otherwise it works great with the Reese stabilizer which makes a HUGE difference and together with the Firestone airbags makes truck towing a lot of fun.

  • Very good value for money

  • Ugly packaging

Made from durable metal

Installation was easy, make sure you torque the balls to at least 100 pounds. I reused my old balls which fit perfectly. If you have a short ball joint, you may need a different one. It's been on the truck for a few weeks, so it's pretty dusty. Note. I ordered a used item as it was a few bucks cheaper. The mount came as needed, the packaging (sealed bag) was opened and there were several spots of peeling paint and rust on the mount. I had it cleaned and repainted which had to be done before…

kind reversible.

It clearly says "The bracket is reversible for use on the road or on the side of a trailer", but when used on the driver's side the curved part of the bracket interferes with the front Fuse required pin the friction rod to the small ball. During operation, this sometimes leads to a twisted pin. The mount is solid and otherwise well made. Note that a standard 2" long 1" OD shank will not fit, I needed at least a 2 3/8" shank to ensure the nut was fully seated on the rails (ended up a 3 1/2 "…

Dangerous, normal use loosens the hitch ball

Tried this with a Reese steering wheel on my 2019 Tacoma towing an Airstream BaseCamp trailer. After a day it turned out I didn't need the sway control, so I turned it off and continued towing the trailer the next day. Began noticing a "knock” when accelerating or braking. On the third morning I noticed that the clutch ball was completely loose. Although I tightened the ball as hard as I could, there is a small gap between the hitch and this offset bracket, and pushing and pulling from the sway

At first glance, the adapter seemed like a great product!

I found this shake control adapter to be a great way to use my existing Reese 3-1/2 swivel mount. But as at least one other reviewer has mentioned, the adapter loosens the ball. On my first ride on a 3,000 lb trailer, I checked the ball and the nut was loose about a full turn. I took great care to screw the ball to the mount to specification. The problem seems to be that the friction wobble control rod causes the adapter to wobble back and forth by turning the ball nut. This issue should be…
