Short screws are good for spare parts

The screws were short, one of them came loose so I had to use an old screw when I installed it. The pads seem good but I need more time on the road to see the result.

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • For old ones

It's always better to have spares Brake Pads

These are becoming increasingly difficult to find as this hitch is no longer manufactured. I bought to have spares because if they break or wear out you'll need to replace them before you can connect.

Pros
  • Positive only
Cons
  • Waiting too long

Perfect replacement

We have had our original Reese clutch since 2012 and the pads are worn down to the bolt heads. These pads are the perfect replacement and the fact that they come with new screws is a plus.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Some trouble

Exactly what I needed.

I had to drill a few more holes to get the bolts to match the part of the weight distribution system they were attaching, but it was exactly what I needed at the best price.

Pros
  • Beautiful
Cons
  • Infinitely slow

Sheared base plate

The original has been stored for years. Bought a replacement 9 months ago, spent most of the time in storage. I went to connect and found that the base plate was cut off. Assuming it was a quality control issue.

Pros
  • There's something in there
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Same as the originals

Identical to the originals. However, the originals are very difficult to replace and neither will these. The screw rusts in place and usually needs to be drilled out. I figured it would be smarter and use a longer bolt through a straight hole with a nut underneath. Brilliant idea, but didn't work. The nut prevented the cover from being fitted. So now I had to install heli coils to rethread the drilled screw holes. In short, replacement parts are fine, but expect to have to drill out bolts.

Pros
  • Suitable for many people
Cons
  • Not sure

Bad experience with simple details.

Parts mostly met expectations. 3 out of 4 were good but 1 hit the wrong hand. The holes are staggered so you will need 2 & 2, 3 & 1 in REESE factory packaging. This caused an obvious installation problem and I had to reuse one of the warning/torn seals. Not cool, but not the end of the world. The problem was getting the seller to even respond to my request. The first contact was very understanding and polite. Accidents happen - my assessment of a company is based on how it handles problems when

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Spare parts availability
