Works for me *UPDATE: BUG*

It does exactly what I need. I have towed my trailer with this connecting pin many times and have had no problems with it. UPDATE: A year and a half later, the locking mechanism has locked. No matter what I did, I couldn't get it to turn around to unlock it. Suitable for WD40, CRC, Kano Aerokroil or Graphite. I ended up having to break it down so I could use my pendant.

Pros
  • Rugged design
Cons
  • Out of style

DO NOT BUY if you value your pendant or money.

I got a new lock because it just looked like junk, so of course I got curious. Without exaggeration, it took me about 10 seconds to remove this WITHOUT TOOLS, that's right, just with my hands. The thing is junk and offers no protection. I would ask for my money back but if their customer service is similar to their product I probably won't get anything.

Pros
  • Practical thing
Cons
  • Some problems

Any lock is just a deterrent

Didn't realize I would use this to lock the hitch DURING towing like some reviews say. I just use a pen for this. It's just supposed to make stealing more difficult. It's hard to cut based on the design and the reviews I read online. Besides picking it, you have to use a grinder to remove it. I hope this is too much time and effort for a thief. Nothing is 100% perfect, but it's simple, lightweight and does what it's supposed to do in my opinion.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • I'll text back

To keep an honest man honest

This thing won't stop anyone from stealing your pendant if they really want to! This is a deterrent. I put it on so someone wouldn't mind stealing my trailer off the boat ramp. I've been using it on my new boat trailer for a few years now. I flexed it almost immediately and didn't fully lock the ball clasp. It still worked fine. It's a big trailer with a tandem axle and there's no shearing! As long as you lock the ball lock fully, you're good to go. I had to replace it because I left it on my…

May be suitable for light trailers

Used for the first time last week and bent at about 30 degrees. Unbent and towed again about 2 hours and he bent again. My boat and trailer weigh about 5,000 pounds and I've been on some pretty rough and twisty roads. The standard pin, which is a bit thicker, had no issues at all. Thing is too thin, especially where it's notched. Maybe it works for a much lighter trailer. I would not buy or use this on a trailer over £2000. Now I understand the posts where people say that this garbage has been…

Waste of money, very fragile, I wouldn't use it above tow class 1.

Badly bent after two uses, I would like to read negative reviews. The problem is that it's anything but hardened steel, it's a piece of regular steel coated in chrome. In addition, the slots used to attach the locking mechanism greatly reduce the diameter of the pin, further weakening it. I reused the original hardened steel 1/4" non-locking pin that came with the boat trailer. I only use it when the trailer is parked or removed from the vehicle, and even then I don't think it does any good…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Sufficient, but the shaft is too thin and does not fit tightly!

I have an 18ft tandem axle closed case car transporter and could not find a suitable hitch lock. The latch was 1" wide and the more compact, close-fitting latches I used on my larger Airstreams were 3/4-7/8". Other locks with longer shafts had larger ends, limiting the use of the clutch housing. This lock closes fairly close to the latch, making bolt cutters difficult to use. Although the clasp isn't as tight as we'd like and the stem is less massive, it will deter the casual thief. This is a…

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
