The key port fell out. Turning the keys for the first time.

Taken out of the packaging, opened and the key connector fell out. Really reliable, yes. I absolutely do not recommend this to anyone.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Some disadvantages

Terrible build quality

This product is rubbish. The locking mechanism came loose from the case after 2 uses. Apparently it's only held there by a small frictional force. Look elsewhere if you need a quality product.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Something different

False sense of security

I sent it back immediately after seeing how easy it is to get through. The entire back is hollow, even made from lightweight die-cast aluminum, so you probably won't have to hit it hard to shatter it or pierce it with a crowbar. I even saw a guy run a gasket around the edge of the bar and just pick the lock open. Don't even bother putting this thing on.

Simple concept, decent quality

Simple concept. To be honest, these locks are only meant to slow someone down long enough to prevent it. It serves its purpose, but is not a high-quality anti-theft device. It absolutely costs a lot more, but it prevents capture and escape or tampering. I love the tamper evident lock/key style. Not a bad product for on the go when you need to leave your trailer unattended, but it's close.

Best lock for the money

Bought the boat a week before holiday and came back to find it was fake. Looks like they put a grinder on the side panel to gain access to the locking mechanism and couldn't. There are also a few tiny nicks on the temple where they tried to pry open and cut. The lock held up well and for $30 it was money well spent. Not sure how burglar proof it is but any thief trying to steal the boat and trailer is dumb enough that this lock is a bit overkill for people with negative IQ. I'm just glad they…

The key breaks easily. No evidence of theft.

I had this lock on a closed trailer for about 2 months then wanted to unlock it and the key just clicked into place. I tried EVERYTHING to get the end of the key out and couldn't get it out. That day I needed my trailer. So I had to tap the top metal piece until I got it off the clutch. A blow to it caused the ball of the lock to shatter. First of all, I think that the design is not protected against theft. If I could remove the lock in a few minutes, anyone who wanted to steal my trailer could

Trust other reviewers!

I have a few other Reese locks and decided I needed a heavy duty lock for a large trailer. I've seen reviews where people have written that they broke keys in it or that the lock is stuck. I thought they just didn't use it properly. But they are 100% right! This is the WORST lock I have ever used. When I first opened the package, I noticed that it felt a little "sticky" when I turned the key. But I thought it would work. Then I load it onto my trailer, which sometimes stays locked for weeks…

Great trailer lock!

I bought a Reese heavy duty trailer lock and have been using it for about a year. I am very satisfied with the trailer lock and would recommend it. The lock body is made of cast aluminum and the U-shape is made of hardened steel. The U-bolt only attaches to the case on one side (where the lock is), but overall I'm happy with it. weaker" than I expected, but it works. (Although it can be a positive thing if the lock gets dusty/dirty rather than sticking). As can be seen from the pictures, the…

NOT universal to hitch Accessory

Very disappointed with this product. I wanted something sturdier and the similar yellow latch was too narrow for my 2 5/16" ball tongue. I opened the package and was pleased with what I thought was a good product. I liked the design of the key. Took it outside to put it on a trailer and found the lock wasn't going to pay out as intended (note gray park is squinting) Maybe I could work with that But then I realized that the PIN lock didn't work. You don't even have to unlock to insert the ball…
