Image is deceptive. The white ground is not connected to the 4-pin connector. Only 3 wires (brown, yellow, green) are suitable for a 4-pin plug.

With this adapter you can easily convert a 4-pin flat trailer plug into a 7-pin round plug. The 4-way cable simply plugs in and you connect 12 volt power and trailer brake control cables. I'm using a Curt Echo Bluetooth Trailer Brake Controller so all I had to do was apply 12v to this connector.

This unit worked great. This allows me to keep a four wire connection for a boat trailer and a seven wire connection for an RV. Just note that the white ground wire on a flat four-prong plug goes nowhere in a seven-prong plug. It had me spinning in circles for a while when I plugged it in.
