Not a genuine Microsoft part (OEM).

One good thing I can say about it is that at least it charges. It's not part of Microsoft's OEM like what comes with the Surface Pro. It's a cheap ugly fake that looks like it, but the cables are a lot cheaper and uglier, the connector magnet is a lot weaker and it falls out a lot easier. Incorrect description, do not buy.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Some little things

Good replacement for Surface 3

Looks like an OEM replacement but not positive. The power cord is very long, so I'm using a cord from an old, non-working PSU. It seems to work fine, but you'll need to check the connection to make sure the light on the "plug" is on, and wiggle it from time to time to make contact. Includes a USB port so you can use it to charge your phone.

  • Still satisfied

Non OEM; Don't waste your money

This product is different from the original surface charger. The power light comes on when the device is plugged into AC power and doesn't indicate a good connection to the Surface like the OEM part does. The device also didn't charge my Surface. I finally went to my local Microsoft store and got a genuine OEM charger that worked as expected. Don't waste your money on this poorly made counterfeit part.

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • Expandable

Long lines! to chargers and adapters

When I bought this power bank I knew the cables were 5 to 6 feet long and I figured that would make it easier to connect. Well it's not for me, too much cable to maneuver. I appreciate the very long power cord as it allows the power supply to sit flat and not dangle! But the extra length of the DC cable just gets in the way! The power bank takes about four hours to be fully charged from 15% of the original state of charge!

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Not as thick as others

The best design flaw among computers and accessories

This is the second power supply I bought due to a connection flaw between the cable and the fixed part that is inserted into the surface. The cable is constantly moving back and forth, which puts a strain on the connection. Eventually it fails. Only 2 wires were connected when the last one failed. We go to McGyver for aftermarket repairs, tape over something hard covering part of the thing and the cable to reduce stress.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Great price

Replacement power supply for Microsoft Surface.

This is a replacement power adapter for Microsoft Surface. Everyone seems to know that the cable from the power adapter to the Surface has several places where bending during normal use will quickly cause the cable to fail. This is the third power supply I have had to buy in two years. What is needed is a design where (1) the cable can be disconnected and easily replaced in the event of a failure without having to replace the power converter black box, and (2) strain relief devices are provided

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • unreliable

Will not work with standard power cords.

The physical characteristics of the connector of this adapter are NOT STANDARD. The dipole power plug plugs in about half an inch from the original adapter and will NOT work with standard dipole power cords! If you try to use it with other regular dipole power cables it won't work! The standard adapter works with standard cables, but the depth of the jack on this one makes it unusable for me. It worries me about other internal aspects of the design when something so simple has been overlooked…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability of testers
Cons
  • There are bugs

Valid for 18 months

I bought this to replace the original device that died about 14 months after I had a Surface Pro 4. . 4 months ago I noticed the case peeling off exposing two wires going back to the outlet. The device continued to work, but I keep checking to see if the wires are exposed. For the last two weeks the charging cable between the power converter and the computer had a short in the cable which resulted in me having to manipulate the cable just right to get it working and charging my computer…

Doesn't work anymore after a while. OEM shit.

I have three of these chargers. They are identical to the OEM charger that came with my Surface Pro 4 except it has a very long 6ft power cord. Thanks for that, and the only reason this didn't get a single star. Shortly (three or four months later) after purchasing this PSU, it stopped working. I bought it from Revain for the same reason, because the OEM charger died the same way. My kids' OEM chargers also died the same way in a short period of time. If I hadn't found a trick to getting the…
