Worked great until it broke.

Maybe it's bad luck but I've burned 2 of these in the last month. The supplier was very responsive initially, promised us it was an accident, received a replacement, but then the replacement burned out. I didn't respond to the replacement and just ordered it elsewhere as they both burned out. Installing these guys takes a lot of work, I just want it to be more than once and not to worry.

The first do-it-yourself timer. Bright and shiny. Good price!

I replaced the ballast myself. The first timer was me, but it was done successfully. Wallah.! Shine bright and clear! It was one of those days when I was so proud of myself! I don't know how many HID bulbs I've purchased and complained about or found defective. Your product worked great! I no longer have the car, but definitely a promising quality product! ☆☆☆☆☆.

Pros
  • Robust construction
Cons
  • Other interesting options are available.

Suitable for my Toyota Prius 08

The product has arrived and has worked as expected. However, please note that when replacing the Prius, the wires will need to be cut and then reattached to the headlight housing. The reason for this is that the part that connects to the light is too big to go through the area where the cable is routed back to the ballast. With only a few tools and butt connectors it wasn't a very difficult task and a lot better than replacing the entire headlight assembly as the repair shops recommend.

Pros
  • While satisfied
Cons
  • The list is long.

Took only 10 months

Received this ballast quickly with no problems. My mechanic installed it and my headlight worked flawlessly for several months. After 10-11 months I noticed my headlight not working again. I was sure that this time my lightbulb had burned out. To be safe, I swapped the lightbulbs from side to side. To my surprise, both lamps were fine. The new ballast is dead. There was no water or moisture in my lantern. Luckily the seller sent a new ballast free of charge which I received today. Hope this one

Problems but done right

***Update: The seller has reached out in advance as per the response below and has assured me that the issue has been resolved with my refund. Great, professional seller response - would buy from him again. Original Rating: Bought as a replacement for an '08 Prius. In order to route the cable through the lamp housing, the plug must be removed from the cable. Instructions for this process are included. However, the plastic cap to be removed was fixed with glue, so it was not possible to remove…

Fantastic x2 on headlight assemblies, parts and accessories

This is my second purchase since replacing both sides. 2 for 2. I love these ballasts. First check: ballast replaced at 126,000 miles because headlight finally failed. I also swapped out the bulb. Let me just say that I had previously replaced another OEM Prius ballast and compared to this ballast it was a lot harder to take apart. In addition, the seller gave very clear and effective instructions. It took me less than 5 minutes to disassemble the ballast connector. Everything works as it…

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Let there be light.

This product worked perfectly. Toyota's factory price was $246 for the ballast. so yes, you do the math. Remember to install the end cap through the headlight assembly, it was necessary to disassemble the end cap - feed the wires through then reattach. This is not a job for those who get frustrated easily. Take your time, relax, don't break it. The first one took me about twenty minutes, the second less than five. Of course, make sure it is the part that fits your specific vehicle. Be patient…

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Very expensive

Installed 11 months ago and still works like a champ

Over 11 months ago a headlight on my 2008 Toyota Prius would flicker and then go off or stay on for a period of time (15 to 30 minutes). then switch off. A web search revealed that the ballast could be the culprit so I replaced it with the one I'm considering and the ballast has worked fine ever since. The reason I am writing this review now (11 months later) is that the headlight has started to work. behaves the same again so I contacted the ballast vendor, GenXenon, thinking the replacement…

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Long delivery time
