I have a stool that I use in the kitchen and the cylinder on that stool has failed. I bought this replacement knowing it would add a few inches because I'm tall and can use those extra inches sometimes. My only complaint is that the old cylinder was VERY difficult to remove (and now I understand why many of these cylinders come with a removal tool), but that's not the fault of this product. I bought this topper to convert an ordinary office chair into a high chair to use at my high dining table (estimated countertop height). Once I finally got the original cylinder attached to the chair (in theory it was easier than done) this cylinder was easy to fit. Tuck it in and add some pressure.
