For replacement FOB only, not key

There is no way to remove the fake key on this case to put it in your own. It just won't pop out without breaking. It's too well placed and I'm not sure if that's the intent. I'm going back and looking elsewhere just in case.

This is the second set of key cases we have purchased for these keys and the previous set lasted around 2 years. We've only had them for a few months, time will tell how durable they are. However, for the price I wouldn't fret if they only lasted a few years. The design is nice in that you use your existing key, while other versions require you to have a new key. I ran into the same issues that many others have written about: the lids don't close completely. So far this has not caused any…

Caution: The key gets stuck in the ignition lock due to the overhang of the sleeve. $650 repair on my 2007 Lexus RX350

Attention! Wow, what an unpleasant surprise. The socket protrusion noted in the first two photos caused the key to get stuck in the ignition. I had to replace the ignition cylinder at a $650 Lexus dealership, and they also bought new key fob housings from there. I should have known better. First, there were no instructions with it. Second, it was very difficult to advance the metal component of the wrench in the threaded sleeve to lock the screw in the body. Needless to say, I flip them and…
