Thermal Sensitivity Poor. Image registration must be performed each time the power is turned on.

Compared to my FLIR TG135 ($180), this camera has poor thermal sensitivity. With FLIR, I could clearly see where my heat channels were located behind the drywall. With this camera I could not find any thermal channels at all. It showed the location of the studs in the same way as the FLIR. I had to adjust the alignment (aka alignment) of the thermal and visible images every time I turned on the camera. The adjustment did not withstand on/off cycles. Very impressed with temperature and humidity

To clarify, this is my first thermal imaging camera. However, I did some research before purchasing, including watching Youtube videos and reading. Most of the videos were shot with different FLIR models, which are much more expensive. I can't tell the difference. The only real difference I see between the camera models is the resolution and using WIFI for downloading which would certainly come in handy. It's easy to use. Good resolution 320x240

Overall: A good thermal imager, but look at the pros and cons first. Actual resolution seems to have improved slightly compared to the HTI-18 (advertised as 320x240). Note that the minimum focal length is 1.5-2m Pros: - Good resolution but noisy (see comments below) - Fairly good price - Relatively small sensor and lens) - No video JPEG output, no raw data - None custom/fixed scaling - auto scaling only. Useful thermal imaging camera at a reasonable price

This HTI-19 thermal imaging camera has proven itself. It covers a wide range of temperatures and works well. I also wanted to photograph the PCB components, but the lens only focuses up to 1.5ft. For macro photography I added a 20mm lens, FL 50.8mm, ZnSe. This is available from Revain and allows the camera to focus to 2 inches. I give all 5 stars because hti-19 is as close as possible to the $1000-2000 device at the price; I know exactly what I'm buying this device for, I wasn't expecting to be able to watch movies or get sharp pictures on it, I build houses quite often and in that regard it does a lot of the work for me. Seems to be working well - temperature and humidity

I wanted this to track bad insulation and I was sure it would have other uses, I don't use it to track animals in the dark. I'm not sure if this will have enough reach for people who want to do this. Update 4/22/2021 - battery removed to try to find a replacement. So far, there is no answer from either the manufacturer or the US supplier as to where and how to get this unique replacement battery. Good news, I reconnected and reinstalled the existing battery and it works like new.
