Works well when it works. Failed pretty quickly.

I bought this set of 5 for my office less than 6 months ago. After 3 months, 2 headphones stopped working. It's ok, I ordered new ones because I decided it was easier to swap them out than going to the company to get a replacement. One of the radio stations is not working now. I have emailed the company about this. It's time to find out what their customer service is all about.

Great for hunting - radios

I've had these on my wish list for a long time and I managed to snag them on sale. We bought these for my husband to go hunting when he's out with other people to keep everyone updated without the phone blinking. He seems to like her. The headphones fit well, there is no sound signal during communication, which was an advantage for him. They heard each other "fine" when they whispered. They were about a mile and a half apart in a wooded area and had good reception.

Strong and high quality signal

Great price for these radios. It's good to have headphones for everyone, although the microphone attached to the headphone cable isn't the best sound. The internal microphone in the walkie-talkie sounds better. It was very difficult to find the range for these radios. They worked great in close proximity, for example around a few buildings and through 1-2 walls. When I took them up into the mountains, they found they didn't work beyond a few miles. So don't expect to use them over long…

2/5 don't work :( on Portable Audio & Video

This is the second time I've ordered them. I'm a restaurant manager and we use them to communicate between front and back On my first Ordered (about 4 months ago) one of the radios didn't work Someone contacted me to see how I liked the radios I told her about the problem and she sent me another one (Great customer service! ) Stopped about a month ago to work another one.I thought maybe one of the waiters/cooks broke. But I just re-ordered another set and 2 of the 5 are broken.4 of the 10 I have

Pros

  • obsolete model

Retevis RT21 Radio 16-Channel UHF 400-480MHz VOX Scrambler Ham Radio (5pcs) and 2-Pin Hidden Air Acoustic Earpiece (5pcs) are poorly made and of poor quality, but again, they were just hundred dollars, which is a pretty good deal for the price. I then bought an upgraded RT6 which is water and dust proof and works very well giving very clear and strong reception with or without earphones which I use with my friends for motorcycling. I really like this RT6 and would recommend it to anyone looking

Not compatible with other walkie-talkies, one broke immediately

We use walkie-talkies for our business so that valet, security and reception can communicate with each other. The range is pretty good, and we can use walkie-talkies about half a block apart. They are not compatible with other walkie-talkies, so we have to choose between these and other types of walkie-talkies that we have. The volume is REALLY low that you have to turn it all the way up all the time to hear the caller. One stopped working within the first two weeks of use. Might consider…

Best Value for Money

First of all I am a radio enthusiast I have a ton of different types from Baofengs to Motorolas. For $15 you can get a programmable HT that operates in the 400-480MHz band. My only complaint out of the box is that the 16 channels aren't really FRS frequencies so you have to be careful with that and reprogram them. In addition, they also have every imaginable CTC and DCS code, so you can be sure that standard Walmart walkie-talkies can't keep up and hear your conversation. and if that's not…

  • Great for me

Great walkie talkies and great customer service

These walkie talkies are great for us! I have them for our theater for communication between the sound/light booth, the spotlight operators, the backstage crew and me (the director). My kids love headphones/mics because they look/feel like Secret Service agents. These radios communicate over long distances and throughout the building, which is great because the walls are cinder block (everywhere in the school and classroom walls!) So our cell service in the building is very unreliable, students

  • Hands free

  • Very expensive

Excellent radios for use in low light conditions.

UPDATED I like the price very much and the quality is excellent. You can't go wrong with the backup plan I was offered. TO UPDATE. I've had these radios for over a year since my initial review and all the knobs have fallen off. That's not a bad thing, because carrying it and moving it around will make her change channels. The antennas broke very quickly, but in a small building they work even between the 1st and 2nd floors. Radios charge all but 1 so I use it to charge all the batteries. So I…
