The perfect compact radio for the job

For anyone looking for a small compact radio this could be your personal answer. I've always gotten stuck or stabbed in the back or disemboweled the antenna. It's small but well made, I like it so far. Good job Retevis.

Cons
  • Nothing here

Useful purchase for parents and fun purchase for children

Arrived quickly. This is done so that children can play in the neighborhood and keep in touch with their parents. Works well. It's a little annoying when everyone's trying to press the talk button and everyone to talk at once, but overall it works well and holds a charge well.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Clarity

Not suitable for school environment

I bought these to use in my special education class with my school communication assistants. I bought them because they were lightweight and we didn't need to clip them to our pants. Reviews have said people have used them on cruise ships but we find them very difficult to use with cinder block walls at school.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Small

Not exactly free hands!

Not entirely hands-free. It only picks up your voice when your mouth is about 3 inches away from the device. To operate, you must hold the device in front of your face. If you hang it by a strap, it won't pick up your voice. However, the seller is amazingly committed to customer satisfaction. You can be assured that every effort is made to make the purchase work for you.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Other Other

I don't know anything about the sound quality or how it actually works. I know that if you use them with an older person. Make sure they don't have memory issues. There are a lot of buttons, and although it is written that you can set them so that they cannot be mixed up or accidentally reset. This confused my mother at first glance. send her back They seem to be of good quality and I think they would be good on certain occasions.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Reliability

They work, no static or unwanted others on other walkie talkies.

Bought for my mother in law who is blind the vox is a bit fiddly but if she just says a long word it activates then says everything before shutting down. If I were to add a feature, since all the function buttons are on the front (FM, channel change, lock, volume up/down), it would be easier for a blind person to just press the side button to talk like a walkie-talkie. She recently had an eyeball, so she still can't see or touch the buttons. I assume her sense of touch will gradually improve…

THIS WORKS REALLY WELL FOR US

We have been using a Baofeng BF-888 radio for about 4 years. They got old and worn out (due to age, fall, etc.). I saw these walkie talkies and they seemed perfect to me. We don't use them for long distances, only at Walmarts, grocery stores, etc. when my wife and I go shopping. We usually wander through different areas and departments and need to stay in touch. We used them today at Sam's Club and Walmart. They worked great. They were crisp, with little to no static or noise. We haven't tried…

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Minor problems

Excellent range for home use, from the garden to the home. We use it for family members with disabilities to stay connected and seek help. One unit in a 3-pack broke down (speaker defect) within a month of purchase. The support immediately sent another device without any problems. The devices operate on Federal Reserve frequencies and transmit at 2W or 0.5W depending on the channel - it is possible to get a connection through the scanners. These aren't private intercoms, these are real…
