1 glaring bug renders it useless

I've struggled for many months to get this to work. I've also built a few hobby PCs and have a server closet full of repurposed hardware for consumer PCs and enterprise servers so I have the skills to sort things out and the willingness to tinker since it's my hobby. The best features of this case are the SSD container and the SATA backplane supporting the "NES cartridge". The problem is really simple. This USB 3-SATA adapter is junk and rarely works at the BEST of times. Mine isn't working at…

!Don't wait to boot from SSD!

The SDD interconnect board is not working properly - do not wait to boot from SSD. There is a solution on the internet BUT this reduces the performance to a level below that of the SD card. I've tried 32-bit and 64-bit Raspbian - both with different problems but same result - the device doesn't work and boot with SSD (in fact, it doesn't even see it on 64-bit Raspbian). (Update) Retroflag replied to my email with a firmware update and/or script. The problem is that in order to force the SSD to…

PRACTICALLY PERFECT. but not quite.

This is the coolest case for the Pi4 Retro Gaming Rig yet. It has everything you need: retro style, an incredibly smart way to use an SSD for storage expansion, a safe shutdown and reset tied to the power buttons, great port integration on the back. The male. SO CLOSE. But. Big but. Something in the way USB3 is connected to SATA and/or USB3 on the front of the case is causing SERIOUS RF interference. Because of this, you cannot use 2.4 Wi-Fi. Your Bluetooth controller is either not working or…

  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Big and chunky

Your SSD may require you to plug an SSD slot adapter directly into the USB 3.0 port of a Windows PC with nothing in it and flash the firmware from the RetroFlag website. After that, you may need to use the internal USB 2.0 port to boot from the SSD. I verified that there was no noticeable performance hit in RetroPie by running the popular blissful 512GB USB 2.0 image inside the case. My SSD was Samsung 860 500GB. The case itself is amazing and looks exactly how you want it to look and feel. The

Doesn't work with 2.4GHz wireless controllers

Case assembled, excitedly powered on to test. My Logitech F710 wireless controllers that used to work around the house now only work within 2-3 feet of the Pi. There is a warning in the box that "USB 3.0 may affect 2.4GHz WiFi". Well I haven't used USB 3.0 for anything. The key was inserted into the USB 2.0 slot on the front panel. This is also referred to as "USB 1.0” in the instructions. Regardless, something on their board is blocking 2.4GHz signals and they blame the USB 3.0 concept. The…
