I wanted to love but I can't.

I really liked this paper. That is beautiful. But when you try to draw on it, you realize that there are problems. Deep craters on the surface, large strands of fiber pressed into the surface, and bumps so rough it felt like I was painting on a popcorn ceiling. Serious. Also, the paint doesn't stick to it well, it doesn't absorb water and doesn't paint well. The paper has some kind of sheen so I'm wondering if it was sprayed with glue or some other chemical? Color goes dull and dull

This paper has a nice rough texture, but as the paper dries the color goes *very* dull and dull. I have used various types and grades of ink on this paper and even the most expensive brands lose their luster and brilliance when dry. I like this paper because it's handmade and I will definitely use it for *other* crafts, but I wouldn't recommend it for watercolor applications.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure
