Looks great and fits great

Looks great and fits great. This is the perfect component for a project bike that I have rebuilt. As you can see the finished bike looks great! "Bike frame. Thanks guys! Ed

Pros
  • Great overall features
Cons
  • Nothing

Heavy but good for $

Steel, heavy, cheap plastic cap. I wish the description was better. However I can't fault it, a good headset for the money. If I could make it again I would pay more for a lighter, higher quality one.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Not all will fit

Works fine but now as others have said switched to cheap ugly top caps.

Good basic quality but heavy headset. But as others have said the top cap looks awfully cheap and not like the picture. Come on, RICHIE get 50 cents more and put on a decent top. Really ugly cheap plastic. an unusually bad looking top cover. So the factor is the price. It might be worth moving on to the next one if you don't have an optional top cap. The rest of the headset is great.

Pros
  • Excellent
Cons
  • No performance

Not up to Richie's expected standards.

The son says 3.5 stars. We're admittedly a bit snobbish when it comes to bike components, having learned that cheap things aren't cheaper for no reason. This headset is fine, but weighs an ounce more than the high-end Ritchey headset it replaced (which had a cracked bottom shell). & ounces add up. It also looks a bit bulky/thick. The high standard that Richie is known for isn't reflected here, although it's better than the "FSA" crap that seems to be flooding the market.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • Fading
