Description of Robinair 18191A R-134a Refrigerant High Side Service Coupler featuring Red Actuator

Chrome plated brass, high-side manual coupler with red actuator. Connects to Robinair Enviro-Guard hoses to allow access to service ports on automotive R-134a A/C systems. Quick-connect design has an integral safety sleeve that protects against injury and refrigerant loss if the coupler is disconnected under pressure. Compact design easily fits into tight quarters - especially handy for retrofits. The 6-ball coupler design provides a more stable grip on the fitting than lesser 4-ball designs.

Non Robinair - Air Conditioning Tools & Equipment

No Robinair markings on gauges or hoses. You can get one for a quarter of what's on sale here. Maybe not bad, but cheap pressure gauges can be disappointing. Plastic handles are cheap and guaranteed to break off at some point. I understand this may be a budget option. I just haven't tried it. HF sensors are almost better.

Can not be used. No hose adapter!

I bought this coupler and 96" hose from Robinair and I can't use it until I have a 1/4 male to 1/2 male adapter! So I can't even use them until I buy an adapter. I just paid double the money for it than others selling the same thing. Never buy Robin products with your money again! Your customers shouldn't get a penny! I am sending back your hose and coupling! Enough is enough.

Crash on first use!

I would give zero stars if possible! When I first used this item, the hose burst. The printing on the hose lists a working pressure of 600psi and a burst pressure of 3,000psi, but the hose ruptured in multiple places when the pressure reached 300psi. I thought Robinair was a good name with quality products but that is no longer the case. Unfortunately I had already passed the 30 day return window before using it for the first time. I think I wasted my money.

Not of brand quality

Bought to replace a cheap locally bought set that broke. Went with the Robinair brand as it has a good reputation. Despite having a brand name and a price, they were as cheap as any budget set. Haven't even tried them so I can send them back. If you are looking for branded quality, do not buy this set. If you want good value for money, save some money by purchasing a cheaper option.

Very cheaply made!: Manifold

These sensors are very cheaply made. I wasn't expecting a quality instrument to be installed at this price point, but these sensors were just awful.1. The needles got stuck from time to time and it took a few hits before they moved freely again. The sensor housing is made of very thin metal. When the lens caps were screwed in after calibration, they flexed enough that the arrows moved away from zero.3. They require constant recalibration.4. Temperatures are in Celsius, not Fahrenheit. Very…

Functionality at a price

This gauge set is suitable for the average handyman. Previously, I used shop quality Robinaire gauge sets in my line of work. Yes, they were heavier and intended for everyday shop use. This gauge set is lightweight. After unpacking, check all O-rings in the ports. This should be the standard procedure for any gauge set. The O-rigs were all in place. The gauges were properly calibrated, the hoses were sealed well, and the couplers connected and disconnected from the car's service valves without…

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

I bought this header kit because it's a Robinair product and they make some pretty decent cooling equipment . I wanted one with a sight glass and a molded body to hold it, hoses and adapters in. I have an older Robinaire 134a header kit which is higher quality but does not have a viewing window or housing. This one is made in China and the quality is ok. The low-pressure gauge had to be recalibrated because it showed positive pressure instead of zero. Splitter valves feel cheap/inferior when…
