Description of πŸ“Š Continuity Measurement Function by RockyMars Display

Main Function: Continuity testing, Length measurement, Cable scan, PoE test, Port flash. Three Scan Modes: Digital mode, Analog mode, PoE mode. It can shield the interference of digital signals without noise which can assist you to locate the line easier. Length Measurement: With TDR, it can be used to measure the length of CAT5 and CAT6 cables and locate issue distance accurately for LAN cable. The measurement range is 2.5m~200m. PoE Test and Hub Blink: Identify which pins are providing power and detect how much voltage, identify which the type of PSE (at/af standard). POE Test Range: test the information of the DC5~60V standard / non-standard PoE device. Withstand voltage design of 60V DC voltage, no longer afraid of burning cables. Hub blink for locating network port by the flashing port light on Hub / Switch. Available to 10M/100M/1000M Hub/ switch. Continuity Testing and NCV Detecting: Detect AC voltage presence (50V-1000V). Test physical status for STP, UTP Lan cable.

Good value for money

I chose this tester to replace an old analog tester that I have been using for many years. I originally bought a digital tester at one of the hardware stores but returned it without even opening it after spotting this tester at Revain. First was the price, $90 versus $50. Second, this tester works with POE connections. A tester that offers this feature from another company costs over $300. At only $50, this is the perfect tester for the home user. If your business relies on this type of tester…

Pros
  • Main function: continuity test, length measurement, cable scan, PoE test, port flash.
Cons
  • Slightly torn

This tester does more than I can test, but the first runs disappointed me. I appreciate the light at the end because cable rooms are often a dark mess with cables hidden and bundled, although they're best kept out of sight and out of sight, but the first tests I did extensively were pretty uncomfortable. ran a 6ft cable and the device kept telling me it was between 7.9ft and 9.9ft. Then I ran 25 feet of cable and it kept showing numbers like 27.9 and 29.9 feet. At one point he told me that a 25

Pros
  • Length Measurement: The TDR can measure the length of CAT5 and CAT6 cables and accurately determine the distance to the LAN cable. Measuring range 2.5-200 m.
Cons
  • Very expensive

Inexpensive and useful

Managing network cabling for a small community was a challenge. We have long cable runs (many close to the Ethernet limit) and dozens of connections. Therefore, using some basic Ethernet testing and tracing tools has become a necessity. While our setup doesn't come close to meeting the accuracy requirements of many commercial setups, it's still important to minimize as many potential problems as possible. The RockyMars NF8209 network cable tester made this task easy. Our older (simple) cable…

Pros
  • Continuity test and NCV detection: Detects the presence of AC voltage (50-1000V). Check the physical condition of the STP, UTP LAN cable.
Cons
  • Long delivery time
