ROKR Wooden Puzzle Retro Gramophone Review

€89 and opened for the first time today. My wife bought it for me for my birthday. I opened it today and the wood is so twisted I think it was a rocking chair in its first life. I can't get it to work, it's so deformed. Worse, I don't have a link to contact the seller so I believe I have an $89 lighter. The manufacturer is probably not very proud of this junk. If there was no support, I would advise everyone not to buy it. Maybe Revain will help me get support from the creators.

Due to COVID I've completed most of the ROKR projects and saved this one for last. It's definitely challenging and took me about 3 weekends to complete. I had one of the swing gears which was a bit finicky so I suggest you check that the crank works as I've had to fix it a couple of times. I couldn't get it to play music using just the crank, but it worked when I plugged it in for more power. The sound is playing, according to my kids it sounds like crazy house music 😂 Good luck and have fun!

Okay, looks really cool and technically works, but the handle design is weak. When I tried to play the record a second time, the handle broke. I've already replaced it, but it's a bit disappointing that it broke so quickly. Second, the speed at which you have to turn the knob to play it makes it very difficult to play. All the gears grind, everything grows, once assembled and running you hear a squeak but keep going and then it picks up speed to make a small generator work properly with sound comes with adapters Supplied for different sized plates, but you will need to disassemble the center to change the size of the gear. My second set of Rokr and just as happy as the first (VW Camper). Good instructions, helpful videos where needed. Quality parts and good fit. spare parts where possible. This was a cool project for people like me who like to collect! Very tiring in some places and you have to be very careful with your parts as they can break easily. They give some extra details, but if you break one of these, you'll probably have to contact the manufacturer. I didn't see them state in the manual if you can replace parts so I gave 4 stars instead of 5. It kept spinning in my head with each piece (don't break it) and made me nervous about ruining all of it if I break one. Luckily

Most of the laser cut parts came out of the trees pretty well. I had a part where the plywood came loose when removed from the tree, but not critical. The horn decorative wrapping on page 25 part J1 is very fragile, two were supplied (one extra), both are broken and I had to use CA glue to attach them. never mind Assembly was fairly easy, but I wouldn't recommend this kit for beginners, build other ROKRs or similar kits first.
