NOT recommended for the US market

This product is not sold ready to use in the US market, it is intended for the European market. You can change the properties, but only 5 times before the product fails and you end up with an expensive paperweight instead. BUYER BEWARE and keep looking! I wish I had :-( I never got this to work and now it's too late to post back.

Excellent technical support

There were some problems with the correct operation. We contacted the technicians. Lost track of time and put it on the back burner. THEY contacted me and asked if everything was ok. Since nothing worked for me, I replied that I would accept their help. You guided me through every step to success. And email so I can work at my leisure. The best technical service I've ever had.

DO NOT BUY for optical drives

Also assuming "ROOFULL USB 3.0 External DVD Drive with Protective Carrying Bag, Portable CD DVD +/-RW Drive Burner" won't burn, will read unburned , only works with store bought DVDs like Frosty the Snowman, Aladdin, etc. Waste of $, wanted to be able to play dvRW with pictures and stream VHS (wedding video, kids dance nights, etc.) Shortest USB cable to connect. Such a waste of $. I'm very tech savvy and I say don't buy it

Well designed external USB DVD drive

I bought one of these external drives because my new Windows 10 laptop didn't have a drive. Ever since I bought it, I've watched DVD movies, read and written to DVDs with no problems. The drive is surprisingly well balanced and therefore has a very low noise level. Sometimes I can't even hear it running unless the green activity light is on and the media is playing. Not plug and play. The support page is not helpful. No instructions. That does not work. Returned.

The player did not work immediately. After jumping through hoops I was finally able to recognize my computer but it only allowed me to open files in File Explorer and view the files. He never played any of them. Tried 5 different players. This is not for the US. "Instructions" is a joke. A small folded piece of paper asking you to go to their website and look for solutions. It's great for installing software and playing games from discs

I've used this to install several video games from discs. I still use it to run any games that require a disc to run. Then I just disconnect the external DVD drive and keep playing. Ideal if you have a gaming laptop (or other) that doesn't have a disc drive. I would recommend this disc to anyone. The included protective sleeve protects the drive from damage during use. YOU NEED A DVD PROGRAM TO OPERATE THIS DEVICE!

The techs are really helpful but the problem wasn't with the player itself it was because my new windows 10 computer didn't have a media player like my old computer did. Microsoft didn't add it to Windows 10 like it used to. Ruful never said anything about finding another program to make this thing work. I did everything they originally said and it still didn't work! I took it to my computer tech and he said the player works. This is not a problem. Went back to Rooful and their suggestions were
