Very good value, very good if you like brushes (I love)

I have had several Royal & Langnickel brushes in my collection for many years, but although I liked them I have to admit that none of them became my favourite. When I saw this new line - the Royal & Langnickel Moderna line - I thought I'd grab a few. I went through all the options and decided I could use a 1 inch wash so I went with the Wash Variety set. Well, first of all, I only used them for watercolors. The 1 inch wash brush is great. I have several washing brushes, but none of them suit me

Good cheap student brushes

I had a medium sized shipment that I needed a brush for and they fitted perfectly. These are not high quality professional brushes but they work well and I have had no complaints. They were easy to clean and I didn't notice any bristle loss which can be an issue with cheaper brushes. It was a really nice little set. I recommend them to all aspiring artists, anyone who needs cheap brushes for crafting. I think these are pretty good student brushes and they did the job I needed.

Good set for beginners. Nice selection and the brushes hold the color well enough.

These are not professional brushes. I would say they are good for beginners progressing to an intermediate level of drawing. The brushes move smoothly across the canvas. The bristles don't fall out. They also don't hold paint, but that's okay because I work with wet paint types, so I don't mind dipping more often. Their material is not as good as the old Royal and Langnickel that cost many years ago. This is a good introduction to the variety of finishes and price range. This is not for serious

Excellent Quality, Great Selection

Different brush sets, especially those with just a few brushes, are a boon for stuffing purposes. That said, if you already have a good set of brushes but need a replacement or two, or perhaps want to try a different type of stroke, this set is for you. On the downside, this isn't a substitute for a more comprehensive entry-level set. R&L offers these different sets in different combinations, so it's pretty easy to find what you want without having to buy unnecessary brushes. The first thing Iโ€ฆ
