The quality has gone down significantly - thin paper nylon collar 🤔

This is definitely not the quality of the product once released by Ruffwear. The nylon they use for their paints now is paper thin and rubbish if you ask me. I have 3 other colors from Ruffwear that I ordered about 2-3 years ago and the quality was much better then. I suppose this also explains why many of their products have come down in price, including this collar.

Great collar but don't rely on the tag clip

Nice collar. It fits well and I liked the wide band. It's well put together. The damper worked great. However, my dog is an 8 month old Labradoodle and he goes with everything! He has had a collar since late March and today I noticed his tags are missing. The plastic clip holding his tags broke, too bad. I need a new license and rabies tags. I wish it was a little more durable as it is an important part of the collar.

  • Decent performance

Bang for your dollar!

Excellent collar, fits true to size and can be adjusted to different lengths. It is made of a very strong thread that does not rub as much as other products. My dog scratched it when I first put it on and it has survived everything he threw at it. It comes with a nice metal hook for your leash and a very small hook made specifically for your dog's name tag. I particularly like the addition of a silicone tag to muffle jingles when you have more than one tag attached between clashing metals. It…

Excellent, durable, beautiful product!

I have two of these collars, one for each of my two Husky/Golden Retriever mix breeds (55lbs and 70lbs). These collars are built to last. Huskies love to play rough, grabbing and pulling on each other's collars. Our dogs also pull heavily on the leash when walking - trying to chase squirrels etc. These collars stand up to all that very well. I also really like the token ring. I attach their plaque with names and license plates, and it's really quiet - no bells. We broke the tag ring through our

Poor quality: collars, harnesses and leashes

The collar was delivered 2 days ago and that is rubbish. First, the collar was in the original packaging but stretched to its full length. I found it weird as it was wrapped around the box multiple times. As I trimmed the collar, I noticed what I thought were two "dimples" in the material. I thought it was because the collar had been wrapped around the box so many times. After 24 hours of wearing, the collar started to loosen. The "cavities" were actually two small cuts in the material. I was…

Dear Ruffwear - but the quality has changed a lot

UPDATE - after 7 months of wearing the new collar already has a lot of snags. With pictures of the damage both Ruffwear collars are the green ones we have used on our other dog for years with no problems. The blue one is the one we bought in mid 2018 and it has already started to fall apart and show visible wear and tear. I originally gave the collar a 4 star rating because it seemed like a much thinner material than what we already had, but I was hoping it wouldn't affect anything so I left…

Probably not worth $20 if you don't like the looks.

Looks super cool! I got it about 2 months ago and it broke after about 5 weeks. The plastic clip is broken. Also, in practice, I didn't really understand the design of metal rings. Because the loop is smaller, the edge will press against the tab on most standard clips. This happened to me three times in one month so I switched to a carbine. I definitely recommend this as the same can happen with the D-ring (but I will say that never happened to me until I used this collar). My dog is 30 pounds,

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Deserves 5 stars but too expensive - hence only 4 stars. The material is much thinner than expected but looks very sturdy. Hot, humid summer will be good - the less material on the dog, the better for him. The "ring” for hanging the leash is ready and strong. I really like the extra ring/loop for attaching the ID tag. (I wonder why they are pretty much the only company that makes a collar with an extra ring for the ID tag.) The buckle/clasp seems to be better/higher quality than other (cheaper)

Pros
  • Consistent test results
