One-piece coupler

The 2-inch receiver is a single piece of steel. Not hollow. The D-ring also seems very strong and durable. I wish there was a rating stamp on the D-ring and a second set of holes to flip the hitch so you can do it if you need to pull from the side. Otherwise a good product

Does not match receiver

The Rugged Ridge products I have purchased have always been of good quality. I bought it because I thought everything would be fine. I had to use an angle grinder to adjust it to the receiver and repaint it. This article didn't even come close. The D ring was also covered in burrs which I wouldn't buy again.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Some minor issues

Easy installation, great price.

Easy installation. We will fully review this product on our Wrangler Riders website. The instructions were pretty easy and they were well packaged. I like that the bolts aren't behind the frame like the stock hitch. This simplifies the installation of a new bumper because you don't have to grind anything.

worked very well

This is close to an OEM Toyota hitch but is actually good as it helps reduce rattling if I just leave it there. I used it once to drag a friend down a muddy path and uproot some bushes in my yard. The surface is fairly well preserved. There are some chips/scratches but that is to be expected. It didn't fit the built-in hitch of an aftermarket steel plate bumper, but since it's solid metal I could sand the edges a little to make it fit if I really wanted it.

  • High score for support and durability from testers

Fixed sharp edges. Everything should be fine now.

Packed in thin bubble wrap in a heavy cardboard box. While there weren't any chips of paint like others, there was a notch on the inside edge of the hole that the hanger would fit through. During transport this was not possible in any way. I would take the force of a hit with a hard and sharp object like a hammer or cold chisel to cause this. Extremely sharp notched edge. A rat tail file and 2 minutes did the trick, but now I need to spray paint it. A strong piece of steel should last a…

Sturdy clutch, cheap D-ring

Unlike most others sold at Revain, this clutch is actually machined to match the receiver, it's not just a raw casting. It is perfect for the Class III hitch on my Ranger as shown in the picture. It is powder coated black. The included D-ring appears to be from the bottom shelf. It's marked 4 tons, possibly metric, but certainly less than the advertised 9,500 pounds (the hitch itself can certainly handle a lot more). The red and orange pin looks cool but is painted very poorly. The coating is a

Great receiver and clip. The first impression is good!

only got it today, so first impression. This is a super nice receiver mount. A lot of them are box metal, but this is a solid piece of milled material. Mine was packaged well and had a really solid finish - looks like it was powder coated. It's just as durable in color as the hitch I have now. Fits perfectly on my Toyota's stock 2" receiver, with little clearance preventing it from rusting or expanding/contracting in the cold. The temperature we get in winter and the heat in summer. The 3/4 ton
