Great Looking Heavy Duty D Rings

Great Looking D Rings. I haven't had a chance to use them yet, but they seem to be doing their job very well. I will update my review after a few rides. I agree with other reviewers that they are much closer to 1" thick than 7/8". It might be the bold red paint that adds value, but they barely fit in my 1" holes (had to poke them up slightly with a hammer). If you have 7/8" holes, they DEFINITELY will NOT fit.

  • Shiny

Seriously durable but paint needed a touch up immediately

Good shackle, disappointed that both almost looked like they had been installed and used once or twice, maybe even dropped due to paint chipping was. Nothing a gloss black rustoleum wouldn't fix, but it didn't need to be done with brand new product straight out of the bubble wrap packaging. There is a star deduction for the condition. They are very durable and it is not apparent how any force reasonably applied to the vehicle could damage them if used properly.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Almost everything is included

Poor paint quality, no pink

Not bad, durable and appears to be well made. The only problem is bad color. It seems to be a common problem, but it was pre-beaten in thin sections and generally poorly painted. Also not as pink as pictured and obviously not as well colored other than solid D-rings. Update: in less than a year they are completely destroyed. All edges are very rusty. The color is completely faded to white and heavily diluted. I decided to throw them away and buy new ones to powder coat as they couldn't even be…

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • Useless features

It's funny when the only way you can give them.

This is exactly what I have had to use with all other straps to restore cars after winter snow problems. 'not last', get them out of the back of your truck or store them no more with your rusty wooden chains. If it annoys you that the pin isn't 3/4" like everything else, you'll be glad to have it if the hole is exactly 3/4" and you wear studs. A pair of these in this size for this price elsewhere! I used mine on the wrench block in the attached picture.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Can be damaged

Chipped paint on shocks, struts and suspension

So disappointed in its looks. The paint was badly chipped and I had to look at it a certain way to make sure the chipped paint wasn't showing outwards. I understand what they are used for, but the appearance of the chips right out of the box wasn't what I expected. I kept them anyway, but I feel like I should have just left the silver ones on my jeep. And I bought two pairs for front and back and all 4 lost color. *UPDATED* 4/18/20. It's terrible! The color matched my Jeep exactly when I got…

Pros
  • Something about it
Cons
  • Terrible hardware

UPDATE: Amazing support. 5/5

UPDATE (10/18/16): Used it to recover over the weekend when the guy's JKU got stuck on a boulder. Even if they were rusty, they worked perfectly. After that I contacted Rugged Ridge to ask about rust. They said they had a bad batch and sent me a new pair with no questions asked. Great support, great guys. Original: Haven't used them to pull yet, but they're already showing signs of rust. Right out of the box, the places where the powder coating wasn't thick (e.g. threads, bolt hole) have…

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Frequency

Seems to be a good value; Seems sure to be strong enough

I have a pair of #9500 staples. They are silver (zinc plated) with a red pin. I didn't want black because I thought it would be too hard to see. If I had them, I'd go for the high-vis yellows, but they're a bit more expensive from another manufacturer. I'm sure they will be fine for the hopefully rare occasion that I need them. I've never had bondage, so I don't have anything quite like it; I bought them because they seemed to offer the best value for money. Now that I have them in my hands I…
