Fits just right but it's a terrible phone holder

So I have a cheap LG Stylo 6 phone (btw I don't recommend it) and it fits the phone holder but the phone holder doesn't hold it well. I can't rotate the phone much and it covers most of the window it sits in. The biggest problem though is holding the phone in the sun and for those living under the Mason-Dixon line this will quickly overheat. 5 minutes drive and my phone warned me about overheating issues. Not true, and right now there are only 80 of them (I live in Maryland but I'm from…

The retaining clips are BS making this pretty much useless though.

As everyone here complains, the brackets that secure the unit are too high to hold the console. another clip fell out of the back of the dashboard during installation). After doing it it seems solid, but why would I change a brand new product? Not sure how/why Rugged Ridge is shipping these things without fixing the clip issue. Simply copy the manufacturer clip and send it in with new devices. The phone holder actually keeps my phone in order once in place. If it's not attached properly, it…

Great idea but poor implementation. I had to modify to make it work.

Great idea but the dimensions just don't match the 07-10 JK. A lot of people have problems with tabs not snapping, and here's the problem. Either the tabs on the back are too high or the back of the compartment is too low for the tabs to fully insert. I solved this problem by carefully lowering the metal tabs down, leaving about 1/8 inch of free space. . I then used a zip tie to keep it from rising. Now it is perfectly fixed. There's still a little play from side to side, but it's so slight…

Had to move clips to keep them from popping out

I've read reviews of people who couldn't keep their clips in place and I had the same problem. As you notice in my photo, the original tray's clip is lower than the Rugged Ridge tray's clip. The clips on the Rugged Ridge tray didn't go deep enough into the holes to stay securely in place and the tray immediately popped out. I ended up having to remove the clips and slide them down the plastic so they fit properly and hold the tray in place. I was able to remove the clips fairly easily with a…

Don't snap into Dashboard 2009, read the reviews!

Read the full review as there are multiple add-ons in my photos! The included phone grip is shown below. Original review: Rubicon 2009. As others have said, the clips suck. I've spent a lot of time playing around with it to try and snap it into place and it didn't work. The clamps just don't fit. I plan on spending more time bending the clamps into a position where they can snag, but I don't want to break them and get a refund. I will write more after trying to make this work. It cannot be…
