Rugged Ridge Gas Tank Skid Plate for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ (Part: 18003.22) Review

This car grille guard appeared sturdy and durable from afar, but upon installing it, I noticed that the plate was unevenly cut and had several scratches. My analysis of this product showed that it was not up to standard. The pros of the product is it's affordable price. Unfortunately, it is poorly designed and not worth the money spent. Automotive enthusiasts, beware of this product!

My old gas cap rusted and fell apart. I bought this sled because it was cheaper than the original, better made and much better looking. Buy with confidence but there are a few people who will help you because you will have to remove the gas tank and disconnect all sorts of brake lines and stuff to put it on.

Just received and not installed yet but the quality of the unit is excellent. The lack of paint chipping and the thickness of the steel will surely withstand any bumps I can endure off-road. I'll make sure my gas tank is protected, "maybe even from bullets". LOLD The drain holes are well placed and fit my jeep perfectly. In the future I would buy my protective gear from Rugged Ridge.
