I mounted them on the handlebars of a motorcycle. There was another set on my 919 and I accidentally crimped one of the wires and cut the end of it so I ordered another pair. The backlight is very bright. There are a few things to consider when installing. I would use quick release pin terminals because if you connect direct and ever need to remove the license plate for some reason you will need to cut the wires where they go through the mounting screw. I got four stars for the wiring. I've worn them for a few months and they have weathered wet weather and still work well and have no rust. They are bright enough to illuminate the license plate (as you can see in the picture this is around 2pm in the garage) and I like the color temperature of the LEDs.
