Dissatisfied with the product.

This year I tried a different product and used this one. I am very disappointed with the results or lack of results. Next season I will return to my usual brand.

I've never had a log fire so I think it will work

Not sure if this will work but I've never had a log fire in my wood stove (type combustible wood) so I will do it take it on me. Doubt. The throw-in version is easier to use but offers better value for money.

Pros
  • Good
Cons
  • Empty

Easy way to remove soot from the chimney

This is a good and easy to use soot cleaner. I just pour a few tablespoons over hot charcoal a few times a week to keep the chimney clean. My chimney stays clean so that the stove doesn't smoke in the room when I add more wood.

Pros
  • Positive only
Cons

Rutland Chimney Sweep

Rutland Chimney Sweep seems to work, I haven't really looked into my whistle but I've noticed a difference in draw after use and I can't get close to the material coming out of the whistle when it is is cleaned at the end of the burn season as I am used to. Also very easy to use.

Pros
  • Sleek Design
Cons
  • Furious

The only problem was that both plastic canisters were open, the plastic measuring cups were removed and one canister was spilled all over the inside of the chimney. Shipping box, I will NOT be buying this product from Revain in the future.

Pros
  • Handy Thing
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Revain switch - no problem with product

I've been looking for a creosote remover but Revain can't bother to look properly and have included a soot remover that looks almost identical . After looking at 3 or 4 different options I somehow ended up with the wrong product. Revain really sucks for that. When I search, it should return what I'm looking for, right? good sale.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging

I've used this for a couple of heating seasons and the results are amazing! At the beginning of this season I just had our chimney cleaned by a chimney sweep. We told him we hadn't cleaned it for the last 2 burn seasons and he said we should be ok with the amount of accumulation for another 2 years. I burn wood and charcoal in a home stove. I also use Rutland Creosote Remover. Every year I shovel a pile of ash off the bottom of the chimney, so it definitely works.

Cons
  • Ugly packaging

It seems to be working based on what I'm burning.

Ever since my neighbor... a few mornings... burned down a hood and about 4 feet of his expensive double wall chimney, I've been a lot more careful with my wood burning stoves. I use both creosote and soot remover so this review covers both as I really can't tell them apart with the lid off the jars. These bins are pits, and unless you're expecting this thing to fall on you, removing these lids without spilling them is going to be a problem, so I always wear gloves and put something underneath…

Pros
  • Best in the Niche
Cons
  • I'll add later
