This 50 amp RV outlet is a steal, but there's not enough room in the 6 gauge cord compartment. Be careful when sliding the wires into place to secure the connector plate. The plate screws are very small. Instead, I used two 1/2" pan-head Tex screws for assembly. In my opinion, as an electrician, your best bet is to use a full-body RV plug, such as Eaton's Cutler-Hammer type .

I added this to the RV side of the garage. The whole reason is a more reliable connection where a standard 20 amp extension cord will bend and fall out. I replaced 50 amps (wanted to buy from 30 amps) with a 30 amp outlet - and yes I cheated and only got 20 amps from the switch into the box. Now standard 30 amp to 50 amp dogbones and 50 amp cords power everything in the camper. NO doesn't do everything like air conditioning and microwave at the same time, but one or the other without problems.

I had to go to the local hardware store to buy a better receiver. The one it came with doesn't accept a 6GA cable. It can take something with thinner threads, but the screws get in the way. A very dangerous relationship. The USA made plug has much larger screws that hold the 6 ga cable more securely. The box is fine. Seems quite complex, but knockouts aren't coming off the way they should. They have creases, but the metal isn't sharp enough to break. If the metal does not have cuts, and a die is needed to open the hole, then it is better to do without a contour. It's not just for looks! The product looks good in the photos but is not well made. The 50 amp RV power supply looks very good. However, trying to install it, it becomes clear that the product has serious flaws. The first thing to note is that the socket is mounted upside down (neutral is on top of the plate) to be used with an RV plug as the large power cord will not fit in the box. It is very difficult to install a thick 3/4 inch cable in a box with large #6-4 wire. . You can't score it like a standard. Be prepared to purchase additional cutting tools. 2.
