Great little product

Took a router table without a 1/4 collet. This is fantastic as a replacement. It seems to constrict in the adapter. So if you drop the attachment you're using, you might have to get creative to get it out, but so far that's my only complaint. I've been using it several times a week for several months now with no problems.

Pros
  • Power tool parts and accessories
Cons
  • Nothing here

What I need but you should know

Of course I got them to fit 1/4" bits in my Ryobi router with half inch collet. The smaller shank fits on and can be put in a router. Remember that the shank of the bit needs to go all the way in this case. I tried using it with the shank about halfway down and it didn't hold up. Generally it works fine. So that's it difficult to set the depth, this is not a big problem as the depth can be set in other ways.

Cons
  • Alright

Genuine Ryobi part fits any 1/2 " collet cutter

Received 2 packs, figured I'm probably on a break now, but after heavy use I still have the first one no problems - It fits my RE180PL perfectly and grips 1/4" shank bits well. I believe they fit most other 1/2" shank bits with ease too, so if (and probably when) I'll get this old Ryobi 2 HP upgrade or replace router (which I got from the junkyard for free and fixed). These adapters will probably survive even a new router.

Cons
  • Hard to tell

Works amazing. I have only ONE problem specific to this adapter type.

These adapters work perfectly. I use a used Harbor Freight plunge mill, and now my large collection of 1/4" shank bits shouldn't be limited to use in my smaller, mostly underpowered, mills. general. The small lip on one end perfectly prevents the adapter from slipping into the collet. My only issue is that once the adapter is in place it's tight enough that it can be quite difficult to pull it back out of the collet, but it's not. Expect something processed to those tolerances.

Pros
  • Collets
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
