Description of SainSmart TPU 3D Printing Filament for Additive Manufacturing: High-Quality Supplies for 3D Printing

TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) is a subclass of thermoplastics which prints strong parts that are also flexible. Compatible with printers on the market that accept 3 mm filament. Including Lutzbot, Ultimaker 3D printers. With bowden extruder needs to print slowly, excellent adhesion on heat bed, not neccessary for extra adhesion like tape. With proper settings, TPU is easy to print thanks to excellent bed adhesion and the filament's tendency to not warp. Resist to oil, grease and etc. Duarable performance even in chemical harsh environment. Great for a variety of projects, such as shoe insoles, watch bands, phone cases, drone parts and more!.

Works like a Dexcom CGM cap!

I used this to print the cover for my Dexcom CGM and it came out really cool! It is a very malleable material like rubber. It fits around the edges fairly well but doesn't have any rough edges after printing.

Pros
  • TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) is a subclass of thermoplastics that prints durable parts that are also flexible.
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Excellent as always

With this we compare all other TPUs. it works, prints to multiple printers and is consistent. I use it on Makerselect Plus and Prusa Mk3. Both print well. Minimal lines and helps remove jelly from GoPro frames.

Pros
  • Compatible with commercial printers that accept 3mm filament. Including Lutzbot, Ultimaker 3D printer. Bowden extruder should print slowly, excellent adhesion to the heatbed, no need for extra adhesion like tape.
Cons
  • unreliable

Clamping due to a larger than expected diameter

The diameter of my reel was much larger than the specified tolerance of 0.05mm, 3.21mm was the maximum measured. If you expect jamming, check the filament diameter, you might not be. If my printer toolkit was more forgiving, this probably wouldn't be an issue.

Pros
  • Ideal for a variety of projects such as shoe inserts, watch bands, phone cases, drone parts and more!
Cons
  • No performance
