Works as expected. The locking function seems good and its adjust/tighten function will probably come in handy as it wears out a bit and needs adjusting. I had a cheaper version of this tool without these features and it became sloppy and awkward to use after a few months.

I bought this as a gift for my husband as it was on his 'I wouldn't mind' list. He said this is exactly what he wanted in his tool arsenal. He does a lot of woodworking and said it would come in handy. He said it worked fine when he used it too.

Good product. Used in a flooring project to properly trim out some uneven edges. Worked as advertised allowing me to make proper cuts. The lock feature is great and a must have for a contour gauge, especially when measuring in one room and cutting in another.

Was hoping to use it when installing laminate so I can cut door moldings etc accurately. But I found the tool itself too thick to fit under the gap between the floor and the trim, so I couldn't use it the way I wanted. I ended up returning it but the tool itself seemed to be of high quality.

The lock feature worked fine for me BUT I went with this version because it claims the two could be linked for larger objects but that absolutely is not the case So. This is still the longest single version available that I found from an extensive web search. It's easy enough to separate longer objects and use them to complete the work, but it would certainly be easier if they were strung together.
