Poor quality door letter box. I tried two orders from different places and both came with poor quality.1. The lid cannot close tightly, leaving a large gap.2. The base is unevenly attached to the surface of the door. I don't understand why there are such good reviews. It makes less sense.

I sent it back because it didn't fit the hole I had. Very high quality finish and looked very impressive. It's not a cheap piece of metal. It's pretty hard. I really wanted it to be the right size as it would really brighten up the front of the house.

The vertical chrome is great and shiny, but the spring is so tight my postman breaks my mail half the time. Not intended for the postman working with one hand. This is quite a heavy device made of polished brass. The finish is glossy and looks good. The casting is somewhat wavy and sharp-edged. The spring is too tight. It's difficult to open with one hand and you can click your finger. (complaint of the postman). There is no mounting template and there should be one. We bought two but returned one thinking we only needed one. So two good reviews: it looks great, fits our door (and it was hard to find the right size!), and they refunded the money very quickly. A minor point but worth noting, it was packed in three layers of cardboard, like one of those Russian dolls. A bit overkill and probably not the most sustainable. But they were great to deal with.
