This is a very poor quality lens

I looked online and thought it would be a good choice for my Sony A7 which has 3 frames but actually less than 1/4 of that frame is directly in front of the lens in focus externally more than 1/4 around the circle are very blurry, totally unusable for me. All my Sony lenses are superior to this one. I was very disappointed. Looking for a full frame fisheye lens. This is not the one I sent back. I am a Google Street View photographer and cannot use this lens.

Not as expected but works.

I bought this based on the reviews. Looks cheaper (obviously it is). Feels good. Captures photos that look like they're attached to an APSF rather than a full-frame camera. As for the aperture ring, I've experimented to get the best possible shots, but I didn't like any of them. Just a fish eye. It won't live on the Ultra Wide designation. I didn't like this lens and will probably return it if Revain's return time allows. You may get better results in bright daylight. Not for an environment…

This lens will inspire you to be creative.

FF Nikon owner with multiple Nikon FX prime and zoom lenses. Now with a very nice new Samyang ultra wide angle lens. Build quality, installation, exposure metering and images are excellent. Manual focusing is no problem with this 12mm lens. This lens produces images as good as my main lenses, you can be a pixel watcher. View the digital images of this lens on Flickr. I use a highly rated Nikon 18-35G lens for wide angle shots and a 12mm lens for ultra wide angle shots. This lens encourages you…

BEST Fisheye for Nikon FX cameras!

Amazing quality at a reasonable price! Super sharp and amazing color reproduction, this is the BEST fisheye available for FX cameras! You DO NOT NEED fisheye autofocus, set the focus just before infinity and stop at f/5.6 and it will be ultra sharp with everything in focus from 1ft to infinity, the Nikon version has a focus confirmation chip, so Even with manual focus, the camera will indicate when the desired area is in focus. Close the aperture ring and you can also control the aperture using

Not as sharp as Canon's L-series lenses, but much better.

I needed a fisheye lens to shoot 360x180 spherical panoramas. I am a commercial photographer specializing in real estate. Normally I would buy a Canon L-series lens and move on, but Canon doesn't make 12mm fisheye prime lenses and their fisheye zoom lens is about 4 times the price of this lens. This Samyang lens (also known as the Rokinon) has a large following in panographer circles, but I couldn't find one used by B&H. I would say this lens has about 90% the quality of a top of the line lens…

Cool effects, bright lens; Manual focus no problem

My first fisheye. I like that there's less distortion than regular fisheye (it's a different technology, but don't rush me). I needed an f/2.8 lens because I mainly use it to shoot streaks in dark bands. I wish it was faster, but it works and the groups love the effect. Manual focusing is a bit of a hassle, but only if you're trying to get close. If you're within 6ft of your point of focus, you're good indefinitely (even at f/2.8). My biggest problem is that the focus ring rotates so easily…

Good lens, fairly cheap price

12mm fisheye gives a very specific look. If you like the look, you will love this lens. I'll leave it to others to debate its technical merits, but for me it produced very good images. I tried the $1350 Canon 8-15 f4L lens but found I usually shoot in the 12-15mm range because it looks very useless at 8mm ultra wide. So I sent the Canon back and got it for about 1/3 the price. I am very happy with it. I haven't done any benchmark tests, but I'm happy with the images I get with the Samyang, as…
