It has worked really well for me! FM and Wx bands.

After reading the reviews I was a bit reluctant to order this antenna as they were included in the whole series. There was simply no consensus as to whether or not this antenna was effective. I had to improve in two areas: FM and weather band. In a town about 20 miles south of here there was a weak FM station playing classical music. The reception I got from the Sangean weather station's retractable antenna was negligible. Yesterday I added an antenna and now I have a stable signal with no…

Broke after 2 weeks

I've tried to find warranty help on your website but there is nothing. I am concerned as I have 5 of your weather radios and a range of accessories. The problem is with an external antenna purchased from Revain a month ago. I have one of the Sangean radios in our master bedroom but the weather reception is poor. I added an external antenna to the same basement radio and it works great. The problem is the antenna for the master bedroom, shortly after installing the antenna the cable fell out of…

Midland WR300 WX Radio Static completely changed to very little

Something has changed on my NOAA radio. I used to get an OK signal but it has become 99% static. I can say that something is being transmitted, but nothing is clear. I've tried tuning the built-in antenna in every possible way, but to no avail. Well maybe I could get 100% static instead of 99%. I bought this antenna hoping it would increase the signal strength enough to at least be readable. The noise hasn't gone away, but it's greatly reduced. Now the transmission is perfectly clear. I have…

Significantly improved reception.

I live in West Norman, Oklahoma and should have cell coverage when the weather is excellent. I use a Midland WR400 weather radio. However, the NOAA folks tuned the stations, and my signal dropped severely. This is the second Sangean ANT-100 that I own. As long as it stays together it's a great antenna and has almost doubled my received signal strength. However, as I said, this is the second of these antennas that I own. The first only lasted a few months and fell apart. Wire connections and…

DO NOT DO THAT! on antennas

I currently have TWO Sangean CL-100 Desktop Weather Alerts with AM/FM RBDS Radio Alert. I live in Houston and the weather is going to be pretty bad. However, I'm about 30 miles from the NOAA radio station in Galveston, and the ground is pretty flat. The signal received was a little weak without an antenna, so I bought THREE of these. The second time I plugged it in I had absolutely NO SIGNAL. I then connected it to my second radio and again NO SIGNAL. I tried all three antennas on both radios…

That's a noticeable improvement

I bought this primarily for a Midland weather radio with a foldable built in antenna. Our local weather station's antenna has been down for a long time, so we have to help. The radio antenna barely works, this antenna brought the station to listening level also because I have the flexibility to place it. I can even put it outside through the nearest window. The biggest improvement so far is FM. My weather radio can also play AM/FM and I decided to experiment with a public radio station 40 miles

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Very expensive

The best little antenna for long distance communication!

I bought this Sangean ANT-100 external antenna to receive other NOAA weather stations out of my range and I am very impressed with my reception. So much depends on the atmosphere in which the radio signals propagate, but this antenna actually works 100%! I installed this antenna on my 60 foot weather tower that I built for my weather gear and other items. I used quad shielded coax cable (from my Sangean CL-100 Table-Top Weather Hazard Alert) and two adapters to convert the RCA phono plug to an…

Do not buy this product - Sangean really failed here - Edited 8/12/13

There have been several reviews on this product stating that the wire on this product often detaches from the base causing the device emerges completely useless. I bought this item anyway, partly because of the Sangean brand and partly because I figured if this was a known issue with the product they would definitely fix it. I can tell you that numerous reviews out there claim that the cable is exactly what separates from the base. When my ANT-100 arrived it turned out to be whole and new. Upon
