I did not purchase this for use in a Kurdi system. I actually use HardiBacker which is covered by Hydroban. It seems logical to me that the most likely place for water to enter behind your system would be running down the wall surface and then past the pads covering the hot and cold pipe inlets. Often the opening around these two holes is too large for a good seal. So the water will most likely flow through these pipe passages and then end up in your wall. The rubber grommet on this product…
