The Schuler Scientific SSP-500, as shown in the picture, is the right compact one.

The Schuler Scientific SSP-500 is the right compact size for my kitchen as shown. I use it every day for various kitchen projects and thanks to its precision it contributes to more successful baking. It runs on AAA batteries but also has its own power supply.

Sturdy construction, accurate scales at a fantastic price

Schuler Scientific scale is perfect for my needs. The small size works very well in my lab with limited desk space. It seems to be solidly made and the removable drip tray makes it easy to clean. The weight and accuracy are top notch, and the included weighing pan is an added bonus.

Unreliable readings

I don't like this scale. I'm not sure if the one I got is faulty, but it doesn't give reliable consistent readings. I wanted to exchange the scale for a different one in case the one sent to me was defective, but there was no option for an exchange. I am disappointed that an exchange was not possible as it is such an expensive purchase.
