At first I didn't really understand the most commonly mentioned smoking issue but I felt like it was getting hot. The device quickly identified which of my deep-cycle batteries needed replacing. This is exactly the tool I needed. First check the batteries to make sure they are good, then diagnose the wiring and connectors. I recommend this tool. I had several suspicious batteries on my sailboat, this device allowed me to test them without removing them from the boat and elsewhere for testing. They are installed in a hard-to-reach place. As expected, one was bad and the other marginal. Now I know which batteries to replace. It gets quite hot when testing, not really a problem, the biggest issue is that the cables can be a bit longer to get into hard to reach compartments in the boat.

This device worked exactly once. After that I get a c6 error which is not explained in any documentation. Of course, my warranty has expired since I don't use it every day.
