Schwalbe AV17 Inner Tubes - 700x28-45c / 28-inch 27-inch - Schrader Valve (2 Pack) Review

What I was looking for Schwalbe AV17 tube 700 x 28-45c with nut Schrader valve Valve stem does not have to be held to inflate, the nut holds the tube in place.

Quality cameras. I like the threaded Schrader valve with a nut so it doesn't move when the pump is connected, a feature I only use seen on Presta valves. These tubes have worked well in my 27 x 1 1/4" tires.

This tube is oversized although it claims to fit 700c wheels. I put them in my 700x28 tires and the tube is so big it folds up on its own creating a bulge in the tire. Too bad, such good tubes.

These pipes flow like crazy. They must be a defect, the result of an incorrect manufacturing process, as they are very porous. First I install one and pump it up to the recommended tire pressure (50psi), it leaked out after two days. And yes, I screwed the valve back on and made sure it wasn't leaking. I took everything apart and put another one in, this one leaked even faster. Dropped to 32 PSI overnight. I pump in some mucus but the pressure still loses and I have to check every day.

These are good quality tubes overall and a good price. But they are advertised as suitable for 45c tires and are NOT. 45c tires are big and have more room for more air, and those tubes are too skinny to handle that kind of air expansion. Please note these are not "cheap" cameras, they are decent quality but they are too flimsy for a 45c tire. I have a Trek Verve 1 with 45c tires and have ridden both in a few weeks.
