Description of Schwinn Elm Girls Bike for Toddlers and Kids, 12-20 inch wheels, Ages 2+, Pink/Purple/Teal, Balance/Training Wheels, Adjustable Seat

This Schwinn Elm girl's bike with 18-inch wheels is designed for children 3 - 7 years old or 42 - 52 inches tall. The Elm is perfect for riding to the park or riding on the sidewalk around the neighborhood. With Schwinn's SmartStart Technology, this bike is designed just for kids: lighter frame, cranks and pedals are positioned forward, gearing designed for easier starting, narrower pedal positions, and smaller grips and seat. Designed with younger riders in mind, this bike includes a rear coaster brake (reverse the pedals to stop) and a front caliper brake (hand-brake like adult bikes); easing the transition to a hand-brake-only bike when they’re ready. The adjustable saddle, seat post, and slack seat-tube angle make for easy, tool-free adjustments to allow the Schwinn Elm girl's bike to grow with your child and prepare them for a full-sized bicycle. Kid-Specific Q-Factor technology includes narrower pedal positions that match the width of a child's hips, allowing for easier peddling and handling.

do you want a divorce Because this bike will test your relationship.

Do you want to yell at your spouse for 2 hours? Boy I got a bike for you! This crazy bike arrived in a giant box, but was it assembled? No, no, it wasn't that. It came with instructions but do they make any sense? No no. If you are contemplating divorce, please buy this bike and see what your relationship is really made of. Also, open a good bottle of wine before you even try.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • A small trifle

Warning, some parts are poorly finished

When I received my package the box looked fine, but when I started opening it and assembling the bike I noticed that there was a huge tear on the side was of the basket. Which really made me doubt the quality of this purchase. Can't comment on how the bike handles as it's currently packed and won't be ridden until Christmas morning. I will post another review as soon as my niece gets to ride this bike. If the company had the option to send a replacement basket that would be great.

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Good bike, good price

Great bike! Assembly was pretty easy if you didn't try to follow the instructions! It took us about 20 minutes. Everything came in good condition with no damage as per previous reviews. I ordered pink, the color is very light. The 16" is perfect for our tall 4 year old. She is about 4ft. It also has plenty of room to grow and the seat is almost fully down in its lowest position. On The pedals and handlebars make it easy to pedal and brake. We added a bell and straps for a quirk that the bike…

Not worth the money, returned for a refund

I thought this bike was better quality than the local shop but I was wrong. Assembly was easy for anyone with even the slightest understanding of mechanics. However, the quality of the hubs, bearings or anything that turned was terrible. My 4 year old daughter had to make an effort to ride this thing on flat, hard ground. I've done everything I can (except disassemble the hubs) with no improvement. Thing will stop on the way down! Terrible workmanship. Brakes are probably only $2! Terrible…

upset. Broken beyond repair.

The bike is nice but as it broke after half a dozen uses I can't recommend it. husband collected. It wasn't very difficult, but took a little longer than we thought. After three uses, the sticks rotted. The?! We tightened them back up and made sure everything else was still secure so our five year old wouldn't fall over because something broke. A ride or two later, a bit fell off while riding and got into the track area. I don't even know how to describe what happened. It looks like the chain…

Defective chain and bottom bracket!

It makes me sad to have to write a bad review for this very cute bike that my daughter loves. You would think that an expensive Shwinn bike would run without problems, but that's not the case. We bought it on 07/04/2019. We paid for professional assembly at our local Dick shop. We figured better safe than sorry, so $60 was worth it for someone who works all day to build this beautiful bike. By the end of the summer, the chain continued to weaken. I had to constantly fix it. Winter is over and…

Sturdy, well made, beautiful color, breaks arms and legs. Brilliant!

Just what we were looking for! We gave it to our 7 year old daughter for Christmas. She really wanted a turquoise bike, and it really fitted the bill perfectly. We saw others and she sat down and tried many different styles of bike to make sure we got one that she could ride with confidence and comfort. She still comfortably rides her bike without training wheels (we live in a rural area where there is a lot of dirt and the only place she can ride is on the road, which makes it difficult for me
