Screw length measured from top of flat to tip of screw 3" (3.00") - Screw head Diameter 0.340". #2 Robertson Drive ( Square ). Made of highly corrosion resistant 316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel. Type 316 is also used extensively for surgical implants within the hostile environment of the body. Deck screws have a type-17 (auger type) thread cutting tip for installation into decking materials. They have bugle heads that allows the screw to depress the wood surface.

Beautiful but incredibly weak screws

These screws looked good as shown in the photos but were the weakest and lowest screws I have ever purchased for any purpose have. In my case, the installation of boards on the deck. They have a blade tip that is said to make drilling into wood easier. But they were harder to drill into wood than other screws I have. They should be stainless steel, but I've had several heads that break off literally 20% of the time, which is at least 10 times higher than other deck screws I own. In other words,
