Store bought L. Although it "fits" on the arms and chest, it is quite short on the torso. I think XL will be too big. You need to make the material a little longer.

I have quite broad chest and shoulders but am of average height. Bought large. It fits snug but keeps you warm and makes putting on my wetsuit a lot easier. I made the mistake of throwing it in the washing machine. the frothy, warm material tears easily if you get caught somewhere.

The material of the front and back of the wetsuit was more durable/thicker and may have kept me a little warm although I didn't realize it. I used it in the Bahamas during the summer months and had the perfect temperature for any dive, down to 100 feet.
