Should have known better.

I am giving this product a 2 instead of a 1 simply because it actually does what it is advertised. Exactly until it broke. I am a knife maker and bought this vise as a more modular alternative to the larger, heavier vise. The work I do with the vise is pretty simple. I do not pull, pry, or bend metal with them. I just need a vise to hold the knife steady while I work to adjust and shape the handle plates and such. Literally the hardest thing I do when making a knife is manually filing the…

Great vise, well designed jaws and clamp

Great vise for small projects you want to do around the house. This vise is the perfect complement to the small vacuum vise I used on a smooth tabletop. I had a small metal vise, but unfortunately the clamp hole was only 1 inch and it didn't open wide enough to grab the edge of the table. With a regular 2" bore and a removable bottom clamp (see photo), this vise solved that problem. Very good adjustable bench vise

I needed a good basic bench vise to grip the watch case holder and change the battery in the watch. I didn't need anything fancy or expensive that cost $30 or more. As long as the vise was strong, inexpensive, and worked, this would be my ideal. The SE 8436MVC 3-inch Universal Vise might have a fancy name, but it's functional.
