Hard to Read - Aquarium Test Kits

I bought this because I thought it would help me better understand where my ammonia is in my tank. The color of this piece is hard to read, the colors are so close to nature it's almost impossible to understand if it's large or not. waste of money

Great for testing ammonia in ponds

My API test shows high ammonia levels but if you use a product like Seachem Safe the API test doesn't recognize the conditioner so it gives false readings. Use this warning to let me know the true readings when using a product like Seachem Safe.

Absolutely works in Fish & Aquatic Pets

Works simply and clearly. This will save your fish. I'm a beginner who has spent a lot of time and energy learning about aquarium care and keeping fish healthy. This brand is great, serious and the sensor works. Mine alerted me to high ammonia levels and saved my fish. Highly recommended

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Some difficulty

CAN IT BE WRONG? ๐Ÿค” in aquarium sets

Received and fitted 13 days ago, is the color still as gray as when it was delivered? Change the saltwater in my 400 gallon tank weekly and use a commercial water conditioner on my tarpon crabs. Does the color stay the same on the meter? Have you used rapid test strips and the sensor seems defective? I'm waiting for the seller's response and will update the rating! ๐Ÿ‘

Not the best of aquarium test kits

I bought this to check the fish cycle in a newly set up aquarium. I rely on my main water kit for my actual readings, but wanted this to be an alert if the ammonia level changes drastically. This monitor showed no ammonia even though my aquarium did have high levels of ammonia. I don't trust it.

Great for quarantine tanks

I've used this in my 10 gallon saltwater QT and it works great. It actually measures what we care about - ammonia, not total ammonium like in most other test kits, which then has to be converted to ammonia, also taking pH into account. One tip - light from behind to get the exact color. I ended up buying one of these for my recently driven DT in case I had ammonia spikes. Pleasant rest.

Good enough for fish and aquatic animals

This is not designed to get the exact amount of ammonia into your aquarium. It is designed as a warning system. I use it to let me know when my tank has completed a cycle. It's not entirely accurate, but it was slowly changing, showing elevated levels of ammonia. I suspect some of the negative reviewers didn't read the instructions. It takes about 4 hours for changes in ammonia to be reflected. It was yellow for quite a while when I first put it in my tank, which I knew was high in ammonia. The
