Disappointed with actual tank filtration

I have a 55" freshwater tank with 6" longleaf fish, 16" urchins, 2 clown char, 2 XO char, 3 large chichlids and a 4" long Parrot. Not much for such a large tank. While researching HOB filters, my local tropical fish shop recommended Tidal and I watched a few Tidal videos as well. For the price of two 75 on Revain I made the purchase. I told my salesman who has handled all of my purchases for the past six years and said that with that much filtration my tank would be crystal clear. Well the last

THE WORST FILTER I EVER HAVE IN 20 YEARS!

I have had reservoirs for 30+ years, bought this filter a few years ago then left a mediocre review and I am still farting with this thing today in 2021. Parts (down tube and nozzle) splintered, fell off, the impeller keeps clogging, the engine stops, . Worst of all, the fittings don't mate with other rigid hoses in aquarium supplies. To try and remedy the situation, perhaps by adding an extension tube, . The filter fitting has the same outside diameter as any hose you wish to connect. What…

Very happy with this filter.

I am very satisfied with this filter. However, I encountered a few problems. Firstly, this model came with a heated iron. I liked this idea as its placement was perfect for my needs as I like to place the heater next to the water flow so it circulates through the tank. Since I have a generic 3D background, I can't use the suction cups that come with my heater for the background. Unfortunately the clip wasn't big enough to hold my heater in place, it fit and would probably stay in place until…

Multipurpose filter

Overall this is a great filter and probably the best HOB on the market with Aquaclear being closely related. Firstly it is only as good as the aquarist is good as it is designed to be filled with your chosen medium. The medium provided consists of bare bones, a mechanical base sponge and a bag of porous material for biological bacteria. You really need to stock your cart with extra stuff to get the most out of this product. The filter is almost completely silent at the lowest flow setting, but…

Great option for HOB filters

Bought a Tidal 75 block from Revain about a month ago. I was very excited to try it out in my 55 gallon aquarium which is mostly populated with disc and black neon tetras. There are two adjustable flow regulators. The first mixes or shuts off the flow through the water inlet, leaving only the skimmer running in the off position (more on that later). The other regulates the flow from the pump itself, slowing down the overall flow of water through the device by 80%. Personally, I always leave the
