Not at all what I expected.Terrible!

How many times have I promised to buy Seagate. I decided to try as their helium screws, I hoped that they would be better than the previous ones. Such a slag! That's it, Seagate doesn't exist for me anymore! Has some pros: Quick. Not very loud. It does not heat up very much, under a load of 45 degrees, even without individual blowing. Has cons: Unreliable. After two years of very careful and lightly loaded operation, almost eight thousand bad sectors and, accordingly, the loss of many valuable…

DO NOT BUY FROM SELLER. THE WARRANTY IS A SCAM. DO NOT READ.

ACTUATOR DIED IN LESS THAN A YEAR. ATTEMPTS TO PROVIDE A MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY. THIS UNIT IS AN OEM SO IT WILL NOT REPLACE SEAGATE. SELL'S ONLY RESPONSE IS TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER. EVEN AFTER WHAT THEY SAID THEY WILL NOT HELP. AMAZON WORK TO OPEN A CLAIM. THE NEXT STEP IS WITH A LAWYER.

10TB (actually 8+ TB) runs cool and quiet. SabrePC.

SaberPC offers reliable packaging and delivery within 2-3 days. Running a full GPT format on this 10TB drive takes around 15 hours, but avoids any nasty surprises when the drive is full. After that you have a little over 8 TB. full frame. The drive is surprisingly cool and quiet, and doesn't shake when hot-swapped. 8 bought. All delivered in the same great packaging. only buy!

One of the two failed Computer and accessories

We bought 2 of these 10TB drives to replace the smaller ones (3TB WD) in our home NAS. Our selection process was based on data that indicated they were very reliable. So when one of them failed mechanically or sonically within days of installation, needless to say, we were surprised and disappointed. We sent both back and replaced them with two same size drives from another manufacturer. Yes, we know that even the most reliable products can suffer from "infant mortality" from time to time. .…

Lots of space

Purchased 10TB Seagate Exos x10 drives were listed as 9TB by the operating system. Six floppy disks were purchased, one turned out to be defective. When turned on, the failed drive spun up, made a very loud vibrating noise, and then shut down after a few seconds. When connected to the mobo SATA port, mouse and keyboard operations were blocked until the failed drive was removed from the system. The failed drive was returned for a refund. The remaining five hard disks were installed normally and…

Fast, Cool, Quiet Computers and Accessories

This is the first time I've definitely run this drive outside. Runs at 82-84C under load (in my house before it hits my super cold data center) - faster than any single hard drive I've owned and I'd call it near silent. I've read people saying it's the "LOUDEST DRIVE". --- b*$% liar! The sound is almost non-existent WITHOUT a housing. Very impressive. When something is running quietly, smoothly and quickly. it just looks future proof. Only time can tell. In a few days I ran a hard drive with a…

For a time when you need ALL the space on a drive.

I've been riding this rim for about 3 weeks and I'm happy with it. It stores everything I own and could store copies of every computer's C drives in the house, leaving free space. I recorded large packets of data on it in a closed case and it hasn't warmed up yet. Write at up to 250MB/s at the beginning of the disc and up to 100MB/s at the slow end of the disc. If you're buying it to replace a 6TB or smaller drive, note that the middle two screws missing, which are used in some cases. In…

Amazing hard drive with data storage

The product was packaged properly with the drive inside protected by a sort of tubular air cushion made of a very strong rubber material. This prevents hard hits on the drive, which is very important with hard drives. This 10TB drive is just amazing. I've seen read speeds of 280MB/s and write speeds of up to 120MB/s, but sometimes it seems to be even faster for the hard drive when writing some large files after the system has been idle. Of course, those speeds are a far cry from NVME SSDs, but…

I have the right model with a fully functional 5 year warranty

I am always skeptical when it comes to buying hard drives from sellers in the market as I have many Had trouble getting a slightly different model than the one listed in the listing (e.g. if the model number in the listing was an SED I could get the standard no SED option) and getting hard drives that are OEM or otherwise out of warranty. To my delight, all of the drives I purchased here were the correct model (ST10000NM0086), the "standard" Seagate Exos x10 SATA 10TB variant, and all of the…

Initialization may take 5 hours/terabytes - UPDATED

UPDATE: It seems my drive is about to initialize and I've clicked on it but nothing has happened and there are no signs of anything happening. After waiting more than 50 hours I checked Disk Utility and it still shows the disk as uninitialized. I clicked Delete and that gave me a bunch of quick formatting options. Since it was an external and not an SSD, I formatted it to macOS Extended (case sensitive, journaling). It worked and I quickly got to work with my new movie repository. This was all…
