SeaSense 737270 Flag Pole Telescoping Review

I call it a flag of parade because it's only for idling! It will come out at a speed above idle! Mine only lasted a few minutes before the lake took it. My buddy had one and the only reason he still has it is because I was watching him and waiting for him to get off his boat. When the time came, we picked it up before it sank. Descends in less than 30 seconds. I suggest attaching some sort of safety cord if you want to keep it.

All right. My taillight doesn't have a cover that flips open to "lock" it in place. Consequently, as other reviewers have pointed out, the flagpole is loosened and jettisoned. At least it lasted about half a day on the 4th. You need to remove the top screw as others have mentioned so you can lower the collar. Don't let that fool you though, it will work and fly away when no one is looking. I think I spent $15 a lot worse.

Bought this for our new boat to wear our nation's colors on the lake. As with many reviews, I had to remove one of the screws to get it to fit properly. We spent a week with my family on vacation, after the first day of being the flag began to crumble around the edges. After day 3 I had to delete it because it wasn't working and was embarrassing. Dispose of properly. The flagpole is also curved at the base. BTW, the boat was not going faster than 40mph, you would expect this to continue.

Edit: Using the flag this summer. Although the pole assembly is fine, the flag wears out quickly. It has already turned purple-pink and has started to break up. The flag is replaced. Better than I expected. Solid design and good quality. Haven't used it on the water yet but very impressed so far. You have to loosen the screw from the bottom to get it right so I decided to keep it at the shortest length and moved the flag clips to a larger diameter pole. Looks great!

While I like the flag and mast, they don't work very well at the bottom of the lake. There was nothing I could do to keep it plugged in, even at low speeds. At best, it takes about 10 minutes before I fall onto the swim platform. I figured I should take a piece of fishing line and tie it to a tip in case there was a gust of wind, but one day I got distracted by my kids and when I turned to check the flag it was plain not there . It's a good product, but it really needs a better mount.

Works as expected, fits standard boat light socket, looks good, good accessory, bought 2nd time. Easy to install and also easy to change the flag if you want a different flag option. This is my second because my first was swimming in the lake. I would recommend disabling the flag at speeds over 20km/h. I was driving at 30-35 mph with the flag waving.
