So great that I ordered more!

I ordered a set of 4 in 2017. I don't think I've ever used them for the kayak storage function they're advertised for, but I've used them for camping. They are INCREDIBLY AWESOME for creating a "stretch line" across your hammock (or rain cover, netting etc) or stretch marks for a tarp, rain cover or similar purpose. They are so amazing I have just ordered 8 more which arrived yesterday. Highly recommended for this purpose. Much quicker and easier to fiddle with than other tight line devices…

DANGEROUS! DO NOT USE FOR ANCHORING A VEHICLE, EVEN FOR LIGHT SERVICES!

Absolute bullshit, could do some serious damage. I used them to attach the nose of the kayak to the front of the car. This was just a secondary mount (the main straps are the typical ones that connect the kayak to my roof rack, luckily I did NOT use those straps for the main straps). Since they were just bow straps, I had very little tension on them. MUCH less than the Β£150 they are rated for. He removed the slack and made a few more clicks to tighten the line a bit. Listen! As other reviewers have said, the rope/leash is too short for many uses.

Received these today and tonight tested my 14ft 6in kayak on a 1997 Sable/Taurus combo that sits low and is not a large vehicle. With loops on the front fenders for attachment.
